Originally from Vero Beach, FL, Attorney James R. Disinger graduated from Stetson University in DeLand with Honors and a Bachelor's Degree in English in 1998, and graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2001. Mr. Disinger focused on criminal law and trial work, was a teaching assistant for trial advocacy courses, and was also awarded the Victor O. Wehle award for excellence in trial advocacy.

Mr. Disinger began his career in Vero Beach as an Assistant State Attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit before moving to the 18th Judicial Circuit (Seminole County). Mr. Disinger was also an associate for a large criminal defense firm in Orlando. In 2005, Mr. Disinger opened his own law practice, focusing on criminal defense, and was offered a position with the Career Criminal Unit at the State Attorney’s Office in DeLand in 2010. While at the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Disinger handled thousands of complex criminal cases and ended his tenure there as a Division Chief and Sex Crimes and Career Criminal Prosecutor in 2018.

Mr. Disinger is an accomplished trial attorney who has tried over 110 criminal jury trials, both as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney, and has represented clients in child custody proceedings, injunction hearings, bond hearings, and violation of probation cases. When he is not serving his clients, Mr. Disinger enjoys his time at home with his wife and kids, at the beach, running, coaching youth volleyball at local clubs, and volunteering.. In 2015 Mr. Disinger ran the TCS New York City Marathon and in 2019 the Chicago Marathon and helped raise over $5,000 for charities like the V Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House.  Mr. Disinger is also a member of an award winning BBQ team and former certified BBQ Judge, who has competed in and judged Florida Barbeque Association competitions.
